What is ESS?

ESS is our monthly English conversation group. Our native English speakers and our Japanese speaking members discuss interesting topics.

Our goal is to have our Japanese speakers talk 80% of the time.

What do we talk about?

We begin with our "Catching Up" section. Each member describes an interesting experience they recently had. Other members are encourage to ask questions about the experience.

In our second section we discuss several paragraphs from Gil Asakawa's book "Being Japanese American". These paragraphs describe how Japanese culture and traditions have evolved among the Japanese American community in America

When and Where?

We meet on the 1st Friday of every month from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Yurakucho Cafe Dining in the Tokyo International Forum, A, Block B1, Marunouchi 3-5-1,  Chiyoda-ku
